InnoTab Software - Classic Stories

Age: 3-6 years

Product Details

Best for ages:
3 to 6 years
In Classic Stories for VTech’s InnoTab® systems, children can read three classic stories. The Frog Prince, Pinocchio and The Three Little Pigs each include three different reading levels. Your child can progress through the different levels while building reading skills. Use the Story Dictionary to learn new vocabulary words. As children switch to different reading levels, the vocabulary words will change to match the level. Then, they can play three fun learning games featuring characters from the stories. Learn handwriting skills by writing letters with Pinocchio in the classroom. Help the little pig make rhymes as he builds his house. Develop phonics skills as you help the princess and frog find items. The recording feature allows parents or children to record themselves reading the stories. Children love these fun tales and parents appreciate the positive messages they convey.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great for budding readers My 5yr old daughter loved this game as she loves reading and loves hearing stories read to her. It is a great game to really help kids get into reading, or develop their skills even more. I received this game for review, all opinions are my own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for first readers I like that this cartridge can read to your child or your child can read the stories alone. It is a great start to early reading. The stories are engaging and ones every child will recognize. My son loves the extra games and my daughter love to read the stories. Even the baby likes to follow along with each story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What kid doesn't love classic tales? My 6/7 year old really enjoyed this and I loved sharing some classic tales with him that I enjoyed as a child. I definitely think this is a game and educational tool in one and a game he can keep, play and learn from for and endless period of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic Stories Classic Stories is a great way to get kids into reading. There are three different reading levels, so its a game that grows along with your child. There are six different games/stories included on the cartridge. Pinocchio, The Frog Prince, and The Three Little Pigs are eBooks that kids can read independently or have read to them. At the end of the story there are questions to help them learn reading comprehension. Then there are some games that go along with the stories. Write with Pinocchio is a great way to practice writing your letters. Help the Princess uses phonics to lead you on a scavenger hunt. Finally, Rhyme Builder teaches rhymes while you help the third pig build his house of brinks. My daughter is four and she had a lot of fun with this game and it has helped improve her reading skills. Complimentary product received in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool for new readers I tried this out with a 5 year old just learning to read. He did OK I like that there are different levels so it can be used for many years . Even my 9 year old helped with the reading comparison. I think its a super tool but I might change the age -- to 5-9 as a 3 and 4 year old might find it too much of a challenge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from for the younger readers My little one is 4, and is not quite reading yet. This game has definitely been teaching him, but requires an adult to sit down and help read all the words. He can get frustrated by it, because most of the games he plays on the InnoTab are very much something he can play on his own. I love the potential this game has to grow with him as his learning gets stronger. We were provided with a sample to review by VTech.
