I bought the hippo for my grandson. He dose not sleep or ride in the car well. He loves everything about the hippo. His sleep pattern has improved and he rides SOOO much better!!!!! He loves the lights the most. I love that its portable. just wish it was in other colors so my granddaughter dose not have to have a blue hippo.

We got the hippo as a gift for our two month old for Christmas. I was super excited mainly for the lights for night time feedings. I had no idea it had cry sensors, that was a pretty awesome bonus. I had the product for 3 days and ordered one for my cousin in another state. I think the toy is awesome.

My step mother bought this for my son for Christmas. We opened it on 12-26-2016. The voice activation does not work like it says it does. As well as the lights are very very dim. And when you press the story telling it will play one story then go to music.. I love the idea of voice activation and the lights. Seems fun and soothing. But does not work as they said it would.

I bought the hippo as a replacement for a different product my son had. At first we loved it! We loved that it would activate when my son would cry and he would go to sleep. After about a week there seemed to be a glitch. I'd have it on nature sounds and it would randomly start telling a story, but only a small section, then it would repeat over and over again. I called vtech as we no longer had the receipt and they sent us a new one. Well after a week the same thing happened and then it just stopped working. I have replaced the batteries and everything they recommend but nothing! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Im skeptical that changing the batteries will make the voice sensor work, ive followed the trouble shooting instructions about removing the batteries, let the toy stand for a few minutes. Hopefully new batteries makes the sensor work. Baby cries often and night. She really enjoys the lights. If it doesnt work, i think its extra sad and a waste as granny bought it for her to sleep better and to give me a helping hand.
But all i can find says replace batteries andnthat should fix it. Hope so then.

We bought this projector/soother for our son. I love all the options available with the product. Definitely worth the money. In regards to the woman who said hers had a glitch, ours did the same thing but when my husband put in new batteries the issue was resolved. I highly recommend this product. More options than other projectors/soothers!

Have had this hippo for well over a year - still has the same batteries in it. The lights on the ceiling are great. I love all that it does and that you can set the timer. When little, babies will watch and listen. When older, they turn it on themselves. I think this is a great toy and wish it came in more animals and not just a hippo. I recommend this toy.

I bought this product to help my two month old daughter fall asleep at night. I loved the nature sounds and the changing starry light features. I personally didn't care for the lady singing and telling stories, as her voice isn't very relaxing, but I knew this before I made the purchase. It worked great for about a month, but now there is some kind of glitch with it. It goes from playing nature sounds one minute to the lady singing half a song, to telling a story, and then repeats the same cycle. This not only startled me out of sleep, but it woke my baby up as well. I turned the volume all the way down and now the lights are malfunctioning. The starry lights are now a lot dimmer and flashing before changing colors. I'm reading similar reviews on other websites.I would have loved this Hippo had we not had these problems.
