VTech Tips for Surfing the Web with Kids

It’s no secret we live in an increasingly techno-centric world. While the Internet can bring entertainment, ease and accessibility to our lives, it’s also becoming more and more ingrained in our children’s daily experiences. This immersion at such an early age is part of a delicate balance that parents are continually trying to manage for their kids.

How Children Learn (and Play) in the Digital Age

What is good learning? That may be a subjective question. But it’s likely that many parents would give answers that fall in the same ballpark, like: - Collaborating and discussing ideas, possible solutions - Project-based learning, designed around real world contexts - Immersing students in a learning experience that allows them to grapple with a problem, gaining higher-order thinking skills from pursuing the solution

Rated 4 out of 5 by Love the product, hate the battery comp" My kids love this product! My 6 year old loves to play it for hours. It is very durable and has great graphics and sound as well as age-appropriate games and even my 2 year old can play and enjoy it! The major con w/this though-the kids can get the batteries out and then proceed to chew on them/lose them. Please make it so that little children can't get the batteries out! i.e. put it w/screws or something. That would be a big help! Thanks! October 14, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Grandson loves it This product was a gift for my grandson, and he loves it . He's had this product for about 2 years and he cant get enough of it . The games that you can download for this product are the best and he can grow at his own speed. I am considering getting one for my 4 year old grand-daughter. GREAT JOB!!!! October 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by My child loves it but... This has been an amazing product for my child. We bought it before the InnoTab came out and it has been a source of fun and educational entertainment for our son who has Asperger's. The touch screen was the key! Now he has an iPad but he still loves his "Mobi". It has been well taken care of but just last week he went to play with it and the touch screen would not work and faded to a blank white screen. If you opened to the QWERTY keyboard it was fine, loose connection? Would love a simple fix instead of having to buy another! Other than that a great product! August 26, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by My kids love it! I bought a Mobigo for my son a little over 2 years ago. Fast forward two years - his little sis is now almost 3 and she wants to play w/ the Mobigo. We have purchased a second Mobigo for my daughter. My son (6 1/2) plays the more complicated games or on a difficult level while my daughter plays the easier games and on an easy level. This system allows for different ages / abilities on the games. The downloadable games are great too! And for just $2.99 a game, it's far more affordable than purchasing in store games at $20 per cartridge. These keep my kids entertained and they're learning skills. Even my 2 1/2 yr old can navigate the menu and they are both so excited when they score well. The graphics are great. Have not had speaker or screen problems as others have complained. The first system bought better than 2 years ago is still going strong. Con: Would prefer longer battery life. The batteries die much too quickly and replacing batteries means having to re-download all games because they are lost. August 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by These systems work! My son finally took interest in his MobiGo 2 weeks ago. He is 2 and 1/2 years old. Nikki already has high scores in Geometry, first grade level in 2 weeks! MogiGo is the only thing that will get my kid to sit down and play, he giggles at the squirrel, I can track his progress and the downloads are affordable. I highly advise Vtech and the learning systems. The whole package is so worth it and the price is good. July 26, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Downloadable games are a disappointment Downloaded a "hide and seek" type game for my daughter, because the description said "FIND" and count, but the game was only about counting dogs not finding them, and since there are no numbers on the keyboard my daughter really didn't get it. The system is okay, but the games leave something to be desired. May 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by i would buy this product again and again I have two boys both at the age of five. One has the mobigo and the oher has the Innotab. They share the games and works out great they are learning so much and it keeps them busy. They only get to play their games with good behavior so they are often goog. I would recomend this game any day... April 25, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Both Our Boys Like It Both our 5yr. and 3yr. old like this system. Seems easy enough for our 3 yr. old to use, yet keeps them both engaged for awhile. We use it as a "sometimes" toy...maybe 2-3 times a week. Are they starting to phase out the games for their newer products though? Doesn't seem like the same quantity of selection as even when we bought them, in Dec. 2011. April 14, 2012
