Overall the product serves its intended purpose but one primary issue. The batteries become unseated during use/handling and may cause the device to suddenly turn off. Sometimes, turning it on is problematic. Upon inspection of the battery compartment, it is because they become improperly seated. Once correctly [re]seated in the compartment, the device turns on and works. Instead of saying flimsy, I prefer to say slightly delicate for handling by young hands... I'm an optimist and so with some small measure of design enhancement(s) based on the aforemetioned, it gets full points. In the meantime, get the DC adapter and plug it in. It'll work fine... Get the battery seating problem resolved first so that I can recommend the device to others.
